will present the talk titled

Encoding, consolidation and recall of sequences in pharmacoresistant epileptic patients: an iEEG study

Abstract

How we encode and remember sequences of events in our daily life has been the subject of wonder in the past years, and the neural underpinnings of event segmentation and sequencing is still not well known. In this study, we propose to answer this question using recordings taken from pharmacoresistant epileptic patients, implanted in key areas relevant to memory such as the hippocampus. For this, we presented them with sequences of images while monitoring their brain activity during the encoding, consolidation and recall of the sequences. We found that the hippocampus is quite active and relevant to this activity, in accordance to previous studies, and that whether a memory is recalled at a later moment may be decided as soon as during the presentation of the stimulus. During this presentation I will show preliminary results and my plans for future analyses.
