From Cognition and Brain Plasticity Unit, Dynamics of Memory Formation Research Group, will present an talk entitled
From memory to decisions
Abstract
In order to perceive we are constantly making decisions about the current state of the outside world. Because transduced sensory information is noisy and many times ambiguous, we constrained perception by implementing prior knowledge about the most likely state of the environment. How specifically does prior information modulate the processing of new information during perceptual decisions? Is the hippocampus involved in the formation and reinstatement of predictive prior information? During the next Brainvitge Seminar I will tell you how I am planning to address these two questions by combining psychophysics, scalp and intracortical encephalography. I will be glad to receive some valuable feedback from you in this new project.
