NeuroArt 2018 Exhibition

NeuroArt is a scientific dissemination project organized by the Institute of Neurosciences with the aim that children and young people create artistic representations of the nervous system: structure, functions and plasticity.

The final day of the NeuroArt competition will take place on June 8th at the Facultat de Belles Arts. In this day students will have to defend their works before a jury composed of experts in Neurosciences (Lluís Fuentemilla from Cognition and Brain Plasticity Unit) and Art. At the end of the day two prizes will be given. One to the best group of 1st and 2nd of ESO and another to the best group of 3rd and 4th of ESO.

The works will be exhibited at the Faculty of Fine Arts from June 11th to 22nd. We encourage you to visit the exhibition with the school or your family.

It has 24 works of art that capture all kinds of concepts and questions in the field of neurosciences that can be of great inspiration. The works have been carried out by students from 1st to 4th of ESO from schools throughout Catalonia within the framework of the NeuroArt project organized by the Institute of Neurosciences, the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Scientific Culture Unit of the University of Barcelona.

The exhibition will be opened from 11th to 22nd of June, from Monday to Friday from 12 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Exhibition hall of the Facultat de Belles Arts.

Three talks will serve as a starting point for a discussion on the relationships between art, science and design, which will also serve to test the communicative limits that exist between the different disciplines. Each speaker will contribute a different point of view to the discussion. Daniel Duato will represent the side of science in this meeting and he will also present the work he is doing in Cognition and Brain Plasticity Unit.
